KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Leading mold development in multiple NPD projects. Projects includes the HIT liquid vaporiser mosquito repellant for Godrej Indonesia, Godrej Magic Body-wash range, HIT mini range, HIT Racquet etc., including multiple mold and factory trials. 
  • Working on multiple projects involving reducing the weight of packaging components. Result is combined reduction of over 500 metric tons in weight & ₹4Cr / year in 2023-24. 
  • Prepared comprehensive mold management SOP and best practices, it is currently followed in GCPL PDD.
  • Worked in developing technology for multiple devices for dispensing liquid insecticides, fragrances, sanitisers and soaps. Patent applied for one of them. 
  • Worked on developing a device device that can be used to create a safe multipurpose household disinfectant at home during the pandemic. 
  • Collaborated with a local mold maker & successfully reduced the lead time and cost for developing pilot tools drastically.
  • Developed as device with non-heating alternate technology for the liquid vaporiser in the Good Knight brand. 
  • Currently working on an alternate method to make hair straightener that can be used at home, and that works without any harsh chemicals. Patent has been applied for this invention. Patent application number: 202221060283

  • To work on identifying and developing new and disruptive technologies in the form of new products, or substantial improvement in existing products in any of the brands of GCPL
  • To create projects as per the above requirement and lead in it from development of prototype, to  attaining stake holder buy-in, to taking it to field trials, to implementation. 
  • Support team in all activities related to packaging development as per the packaging timeline. 
  • Responsible for providing support as a technical expert in development of molds for rigid plastic parts in NPD projects
  • To work in finalising product design as per outline provided by design team for NPD and disruptive innovations.  
  • To identify and work on value engineering initiatives where cost of existing products can be reduced

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Lead designer for the first 64 + 64 cavity stack mold (Product – Vaseline Cap)
  • Worked on the first Cube mold made by Vasantha Tool Crafts Pvt. Ltd. (VTC) as design reviewer. (Product – Laser Razor handle)
  • Lead designer for the first rotary mold for VTC (single cavity pilot) for Boost bicolour cap. 
  • Lead designer for Bicolour cap for Himalaya
  • Travelled to Uniliver design Center in Shanghai to participate in the development of the Clinic plus shampoo packaging redesign. Provided inputs for the hinge design and undercut removal.
  • Travelled to Diecraft at Melbourne – Australia for a week long training in the company’s standards and processes. 
  • Led the change in the company’s transition form a 2D + 3D platform using AutoCAD to a completely 3D environment using Creo Parametric. My contributions includes finalising the  templates for drawings, the automatic creation & populating the bill of materials, and the assembly design process using Creo Parametric and EMX.
  • Designed over 150 molds which included almost every technology used in injection mold design for FMCG & small switchgear parts.

JOB PROFILE

Leading a small team of mold designers to create injection mold design  for drawings, 3D CAD or samples provided by the customer. Activities included:

  • Creating product 3D and 2D (when required), & getting approval from customer. Understanding customer standards, and incorporating the same in the mold design.
  • Creating concept mold design, DFM and 3D mold design. Interacting with customer an manufacturing in mold design reviews.
  • Flow analysis using MoldEx3
  • Guiding other designers in creating detail drawings & Bill of Materials. Checking and reviewing designs created by other designers.
  • Witnessing trials of molds, and to take feedback from assembly and trial section.
  • Troubleshooting any problem that may be there on the mold or the product.
  • Creating and maintaining ISO documentation
